The Waltham Museum

In 1854 Aaron Dennison and Edward Howard built their factory in Waltham, on the banks of the Charles River. The Waltham Watch Company pioneered the method of mass production with interchangeable parts and, in in over 100 years, assembled its precision movements in more than 40 million watches. Waltham grew to worldwide renown and quickly became synonymous of affordability, quality, and perfection.

In the Museum located in the Waltham Watch factory - you’ll admire watches, clocks, and machine and you’ll learn the story of the Waltham Watch Company and how it inspired and shaped the future of the America’s manufacturing success (Henry Ford’s visit to the factory inspired his use of the assembly line in automobile manufacturing).
