A known Waltham vintage dealer who has been in business for almost 14 years told us tat he came across only 6 of them, all sold within a matter of hours. Depending on condition they sell for $7,000 — $10,000 USD and the prices of an original are going nowhere but up in the future.
In a nutshell the Waltham F&M is by far the most expensive American made antique wrist watch to obtain these days and you will never see them listed on Ebay, Esty, Chrono 24, auction houses or anywhere else. Once in a blue moon a dealer might have one but they are sold in a matter of hours. For the most part they change ownership between high end collectors.
Even more rare is the 14k solid gold Thermo version, but, nobody has ever found one. If a Thermo ever pops up for sale the price could be in excess of $50,000.
